Passing Down

Hope everyone has enjoyed my recent content. Thank you for all your reading and support! Today, we'll touch on the last bullet point from my blog, Generational Wealth and the Black Community. Making a business for your family that can be passed down is a good way to leave your children jobs and help keep money in your family. We, as black people must stop being afraid of being different. We have to stop fearing doing things on our own or fear being in the minority. We have to start using our interest and turn them into streams of income to help us with cash flow. If you are good at anything, see if it's something you can take seriously and use it to your advantage. If you like baking cakes out of the boxes at the grocery store, you can easily buy some baking cups and utensils and start selling baked goods. You can do a bake sale and start advertising on your social media showcasing your talent. Some people bake from scratch, but either will work if you're good and passionate. You can always look up in your city how to get a street permit or you can see if you can sell at kids sporting events in your community, try a local street market or flea market, etc. (They usually don't cost a ton to reserve these spaces but you can attempt to save up for this cost in advance.) If you played sports and would like to include it in your adulthood life, maybe you can do training camps for kids for a good price. Know how to fix cars, don't be afraid to let people know. Some people are more comfortable with backyard mechanics and people always need something on their cars fixed. If you were good at reading or math subjects, tutor children, teens, or adults in college. Sell your old clothes that are in good condition or furniture. It's okay to start small and give yourself time to prepare. Write out a business plan and give yourself time to stash money. You don't need a ton of money to start a business. You do need knowledge, a solid plan, faith, a good work ethic, patience, passion, and like minded people willing to help you. Just remember, you can't finish something you never start!

Until Next Time,
